A wind warning is still in effect for Richmond this morning, with gusts of up to 90 km/h expected near the water.

According to Environment Canada, the wind will come from the southeast, gusting from 50 to 70 km/h inland to 90 nearer the water.

The high winds will be accompanied by between five and 10 mm of rain and has been referred to as a "weather bomb" by some weather forecasters.

Most of the impact overnight was felt on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast, where there are multiple outages. Meanwhile, BC Ferries has cancelled several sailings this morning. Check BC Ferries for the latest information.

The City of Richmond and BC Hydro are advising the public to look out for downed trees and power lines and to call 9-1-1 if they see a line down.
