Saturday, Feb. 10 – Monday, Feb. 12: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Our Coastal Connection Exhibit and Scavenger Hunt at Britannia Shipyards

Visit the exhibit in the Seine Net Loft, which explores the historic connection to local waterways and what local groups are doing to keep our rivers and oceans healthy for future generations. Children can participate in an exhibit scavenger hunt and learn how they can become “water champions.”

Sunday, Feb. 11: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cannery Farmers’ Market at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery

Continuing the tradition of the Steveston winter farmers’ market as a local attraction and a gathering place for our neighbouring community, the Cannery Farmers’ Market provides an opportunity for local food producers and artisans to showcase their products, which follow the “Make it, Bake it, Grow it, Catch it” philosophy. Only approved products that are made, baked, grown, raised, caught or harvested by B.C. vendors can be sold.

Monday, Feb. 12: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Children’s Arts Festival at Richmond Cultural Centre

Children’s Arts Festival turns 10 years old! Celebrate with fun interactive arts classes, unforgettable performances and many kid-inspired imagination stations. Due to popularity, the City of Richmond organizers are advising people to book into the creative classes as soon as possible. General festival admission is $5.

Monday, Feb. 12: 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Family Day Breakfast at Cambie Community Centre

Enjoy a breakfast of pancakes and beverages along with a performance by the Ta Daa Lady, a visual artist and children’s performer. Registration required.

Monday, Feb. 12: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (drop in)

Legacy Artwork Project at City Centre Community Centre

Drop by for a glimpse of the work-in-progress, a rug hooking demonstration and a quick one-to-one tutorial. Take the opportunity to hook a few loops in the Legacy Project circles with textile artists Deirdre Pinnock and Nadine Flagel. Also, consider bringing a piece of cloth or clothing to become part of the community centre’s Legacy Artwork Project.
