Drivers are still not getting the message that alcohol and driving simply do not mix.
In what has become a regular report on Monday’s, Delta police has provided yet another update on its weekend impaired driving cases.
“This weekend’s impaired driving numbers doubled from last week. The good news is that Delta Police took 10 impaired drivers off the roads this weekend; obviously the bad news is that drivers still aren't getting the message not to get behind the wheel of their vehicle if they have been consuming alcohol,” said DPD in a post on its Facebook page.
Here are the numbers from this weekend’s count:
- Number of three-day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRP’s): three
- Number of 90-day IRP's: seven
- Median age of the drivers: 44
- Number of drivers who reside in Delta: six
