A video of two men fighting in a Richmond shopping mall food court on the weekend is doing the rounds social media.

Richmond RCMP said it responded to several reports of a fight in progress at the plaza, near Odlin Crescent and Cambie Road, shortly before 2:30 p.m.

A 29-year-old Burnaby resident and a 32-year-old Richmond resident were involved in the fight and sustained minor injuries, said Cpl. Dennis Hwang, spokesperson for the Richmond RCMP.

“It was determined that no criminal offence had occurred and the parties were strongly encouraged to leave the area and consult with their respective physicians if required,” said Hwang.

One Little Red Book user said bystanders looked indifferent while other users asked for more context to the video as it was shot mid-fight.

One person even joked on social media that the fight might have been staged to promote the older-style shopping centre.
