The Fraser River has been covered with ice and snow

With the temperatures dropping well below zero, it is no surprise that the Fraser River has been covered with ice.

Twitter user Ryan Voutilainen posted a video showing a mix of ice and snow spotted on the Fraser River, near the middle arm in Richmond, and added that the “#FrazilIce” can be seen from the New Westminster, Richmond and Delta border.

In 2017, ice chunks were also spotted floating down the Fraser River.

However, the last time the river was completely frozen solid enough to stand on was in 1922, according to the New Westminster Archives.
