The Richmond School District announced early Thursday morning that schools are open after Wednesday's snow day.
All public schools and childcare centres at Richmond's public schools were closed on Jan. 15.
Environment Canada has lifted the snow and wind warnings, but is cautioning of light freezing rain at Vancouver International Airport.
The worry for the City of Richmond is ice on the roads because of a combination of snow melting and freezing temperatures, explained city spokesperson Clay Adams.
"We remind drivers and pedestrians to be extra careful," he said. "Slow down and drive or walk to the conditions."
City of Richmond crews worked throughout yesterday clearing roads, but it was a "constant battle" as the snow fell as fast as it was removed, explained Adams. At times they used a "tandem approach" - two plows in adjacent lanes with one slightly behind the other.
Now trucks are running solo to help cover a broader area.
The city was able to pick up garbage on Wednesday, but not the blue boxes and green waste. Residents are asked to leave these out as the city will try to pick them up today.
Potential School Closures Due to Weather: The district will make every attempt to determine school closures due to inclement weather by 6:30 a.m. based on current weather and road conditions. Read more... https://t.co/jrFf5v655H #SD38 #RichmondBC pic.twitter.com/Bj0c6BnKK9
