A woman who was shot at a tattoo parlor appears to have been an innocent bystander.
Richmond RCMP believe the woman, taken to hospital Friday night after the incident at the Capstan Way strip mall, was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The woman was said Monday to be in a serious, but stable condition and was expected to make a full recovery.
There is a report going around that the victim has taken a turn for the worse. Thats not the case, said Richmond RCMPs Sgt. Cam Kowalski.
We are 99 per cent certain that she is an innocent victim here and she was not targeted.
Multiple shots were fired around 8 p.m. in Floating Shop Tattoo Parlor at 8388 Capstan Way.
Police are still trying to figure out the motive, not ruling out whether or not the tattoo parlor was the intended target.
Were not saying it has nothing to do with the parlor, were still following a number of possibilities, added Kowalski.
Were not sure either whether it was a botched robbery, it could be about a half dozen things at the moment.
Were still looking for additional witnesses as were getting conflicting stories so far from people weve spoken to.
After the shots were fired, the suspect or suspects fled the scene prior to police arriving.
