Update: Richmond altercation sends man to hospital with stab wounds on Sunday

Richmond RCMP believes the stabbing incident was targeted

A man was sent to the hospital in critical condition after a stabbing incident took place in Richmond on Nov. 1.

The Richmond RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) responded to calls of the stabbing at Richmond Centre on No. 3 Road around 4:30 a.m.

Police said the victim was allegedly involved in an altercation with several other suspects resulting in him getting stabbed multiple times.

The suspects then fled the area in a dark-coloured SUV before police arrived.

The victim was sent to Richmond Hospital in critical condition, but has since been released, according to Cpl. Adriana Peralta, spokesperson of the Richmond RCMP.

Police believe the incident was targeted and the RCMP Serious Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation.
