A serious accident closed part of the intersection at Steveston Highway and No. 1 Road on Monday morning.
According to the BC Ambulance Service, the four-car crash happened about 8:20 a.m., resulting in one person being taken to hospital in stable condition.
The accident caused traffic to be backed up heavily in most directions in the area.
Traffic was being diverted about a block south of the accident on No. 1 Road and a block to the east on Steveston Highway.
Richmond RCMP told the Richmond News that neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor, but that its investigation is ongoing.
