UPDATE: Missing Richmond woman located, police still looking for teen

Richmond teenager Joshua Chamanya still missing

The Richmond RCMP have located a missing 35 year-old Richmond woman named Siobhan Sam.

Sam was reported missing on Feb. 25, 2016, after failing to return to her home in the area of Granville Avenue and No. 1 Rd, according to a police statement, released Friday morning.

By Friday night, police said Sam was located.

Richmond RCMP have re-stated the last reported sighting of missing 17-year-old Joshua Chamanya was near the intersection of No. 3 Road and Westminster Highway on Jan.18.

"In addition to his family, friends and the police, the African community in BC is seeking public assistance in locating missing Congolese-Canadian Joshua Chamanya. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated," said Cpl. Dennis Hwang.

Joshua is a 17-year-old African-Canadian male, 5’ 7” tall (170 cm), weighing 150 Lbs (68 kg). He has short black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with dark skateboarder style pants.

Hwang said, “Joshua is a good student and this behaviour is out of the norm for him. His family, friends, and police are concerned for his well-being.”

Anyone with information as to Joshua’s whereabouts is urged to contact their local police.
