Unexpected closure of Richmond bubble tea shop

Private memberships and upcoming projects were vaguely mentioned in a notice posted on the door.

A Richmond bubble shop has silently and abruptly closed this month.

Award-winning Exposure Drink and Social House, known for its bold branded bubble tea and DJ night events, has officially closed its "bubble tea store front," according to a notice posted on the shop's front door.

However, the notice said they will move to a "private back office" with a mention of a "private membership" that will be offered to customers who would still like to be updated on future projects and events planned under the brand.

"Thank you for all the support in the past years, its been an honor to serve the community," reads the notice.

Richmond's Exposure Drink and Social House was often a hip spot for people who loved music and cars to gather. They were also a local spot that offered a 10 per cent discount on their bubble tea drinks on rainy days.

The shop was also recently recognized as the 2022 Best Bubble Tea Shop by the Chinese Restaurant Awards in December.
