Two 15-year-old female pedestrians were sent to the hospital after a serious crash that closed off Cambie Road on Thursday.
The two girls were hit by an "early 2000 model year Toyota" on Cambie Road, between No. 5 and Jacombs roads on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, according to Richmond RCMP.
One sustained serious injuries while the other had critical injuries. Neither of them was on the road at the time of the crash.
Frontline officers responded to reports of the crash shortly after 3 p.m.
The driver, who was a 17-year-old female, was not hurt and stayed on the scene to work with investigators.
"Neither alcohol or drugs are believed to be contributing factors in this collision," said Richmond RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dennis Hwang.
The crash is currently being investigated by the Criminal Collision Investigation Team with help from the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service.
