Two planned power outages in Richmond this upcoming week

There are a number of power outages planned for Richmond this week

Richmond residents in multiple areas will experience power outages as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work on May 11 and 17.

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

Here is the list of power outages scheduled for the upcoming week:

May 11 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Pole replacement work will affect seven customers at:

  • 4331,4351,4371,4391,4411,4415 and 4417 Francis Rd

May 17 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Pole replacement work will affect 15 customers at:

  • 9220 to 9350 Kilby St.
