More pedestrians were struck on Richmonds roads, prompting police to warn yet again about the dangers at this time of year.
On Friday, around 10:30 a.m., police were called to a report of a 65-year-old woman being struck by a car on Westminster Highway at Lynas Lane.
The woman was apparently crossing Westminster Highway northbound when she was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Lynas Lane turning east (left) onto Westminster.
RCMP say the driver immediately got out to help the pedestrian, saying she didn't see the woman because of sun glare.
The victim was taken to hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries and the driver received a violation ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
On Saturday, at around 4 p.m., police were this time called to deal with a report of a 14-year-old girl struck at Kwantlen Street and Alderbridge Way.
The girl, from Vancouver, was crossing Alderbridge when she was struck by a silver car.
The driver got out and asked the girl if she was OK, to which she replied yes, but said she would need to call her mom.
However, when the victim turned around the driver was gone. No information was exchanged between the pair and the investigation is continuing. Witnesses are asked to give police a call at 604 278 1212.
