Richmond RCMP says it has shut down two methamphetamine labs operating out of homes this week.

Following an investigation, the RCMP Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response Team (CLEAR) executed a search warrant at the 7000-block of Schaefer Avenue.

The entire residence was contaminated with the products of the ongoing illicit and toxic operation. A substantial quantity of chemicals and lab equipment worth a significant amount were located in various parts of the unoccupied residence,” stated RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dennis Hwang, via a news release.

Police then learned of another operation at a home in the 7500-block of Lucas Road.

A smaller meth lab was found there.

Four males, including one known to police, were arrested in total and charges are pending, said Hwang.
