1. Lulu Island was named in 1862 by Richard Moody, after Lulu Sweet, a popular showgirl,[2] possibly of Kanaka (Hawaiian) origin, who had bought property here.

3. It was the family of Hugh McRoberts, who came from Australia. Their home there was called “Richmond View” in Australia and that is what they named their homestead in Richmond.
