Three scheduled power outages expected in Richmond this week

There are a number of power outages planned for Richmond this week

Richmond residents in multiple areas will experience power outages as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work between August 5 and 9.

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

Here is the list of power outages scheduled for the upcoming week:

August 5 from 9 p.m. to August 6 at 7 a.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 250 customers at:

  • 6080 to 6088 Minoru Blvd.

August 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Pole replacement will affect six customers at:

  • 9411, 9431, 9451, 9471 and 9491 No 5 Rd.
  •  11860 King Rd.

August 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect seven customers at:

  • 6391, 6411, 6380, 6400, 6420, 6431 and 6440 Nadine Cres.
