A male McMath secondary student was arrested by police after he was alleged to have conjured up death threats, including an imminent school shooting.

4. Luxury car condo

Eyes rolled when it became known that Richmond is to be the location of a luxury car “condo,” where rich people can hang out with their parked vehicles in a club-like atmosphere.

3. Pumpkin thieves

Jaws dropped when a Richmond farmer erected fencing around his open field, to prevent thieves driving luxury cars from stealing his pumpkins.

2. Not as cool as Bond

A Richmond resident and owner of a $200,000-plus, James Bond-style Aston Martin got in a single-vehicle crash and complained about the $130,000 repair bill. The “shaken not stirred” story was the most read on Richmond-News.com in 2017.
