Temporary road closure in place for part of Cook Road in Richmond

The closure will be in effect from March 13 to March 28
Cook Road closure
Cook Road will be fully closed to traffic between Garden City Road and Cooney Road.

The City of Richmond is advising drivers that a portion of Cook Road will be closed for the next two weeks.

Cook Road will be fully closed to traffic between Garden City Road and Cooney Road, as of 7 a.m. this morning (March 13) until 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 28.

The closure is needed so that contractor Merletti Construction can complete the installation of the deep sanitary sewer crossing Cook Road. The work is part of the Eckersley B Sanitary Pump Station upgrade, according to the city.

Alternative routes will be in place for drivers to access Richmond’s city centre, while local resident access will be in place for residences along Cook Road. Advisory and directional signage will be in place.

Some of the work will also be taking place at night, and measures will be in place to minimize noise and light disturbances.
