The big fire sale in Target’s failed Canadian stores, including Richmond, could begin this Thursday.
Target Canada is expected to start liquidating its stock across the country, including at Richmond’s Lansdowne Centre location, by the end of this week at the latest after Ontario Superior Court on Wednesday approved a plan by the company to sell off merchandise at discounted prices.
A Target Corp. spokeswoman said Canadian stores, including 19 in B.C., will offer discounts of up to 40 per cent off regular prices.
The U.S.-based retailer announced last month that it will be closing all 133 of its Canadian stores and laying off more than 17,000 staff after only two years in operation.
