June is going to be a busy month for the Steveston-based charity Wigs for Kids BC.
The non-profit, which primarily raises money to help take the financial burden off families of kids fighting cancer, kicked off its annual, online silent auction on Sunday.
The auction will run until Wednesday, June 7 at 8 p.m. and, thanks to the many businesses and individuals who donated, Wigs for Kids believes this year’s auction could be the best yet.
Among the items available for bidding are gift cards for cafes, bars and restaurants across the region, as well as hotel stays in Whistler, a BBQ and even a brand-new iPhone.
Then, on Saturday June 24, there will be a cutathon at Collective Beauty in Steveston and the following day, Sunday June 25, will see the third annual Taco eating Contest at Little Mexico Cantina in Steveston.
The charity is volunteer run and every dollar raised goes into the Wigs for Kids BC program.
