A Richmond senior has died after the car she was traveling in was involved in a three-car crash on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 12:40 p.m. at the Blundell and No. 5 roads intersection.
A total of five people were taken to hospital after a Dodge Caravan traveling east on Blundell collided with a Toyota Corolla traveling north on No. 5. The two vehicles then collided with a Mercedes traveling west on Blundell.
According to Richmond RCMP, only the lone occupant of the Mercedes escaped injury.
The two female passengers of the Corolla suffered the worst injuries, including a 78-year-old backseat passenger, who was taken to hospital by later died from her injuries.
The other occupant of the Corolla, a 52-year-old woman, has undergone two surgeries and is currently in critical but stable condition.
No charges have been laid at this time.
