Scholarship to help Richmond women enter workforce, further careers

From now until May 31, the Richmond Community Foundation is accepting applications for the 2023 Ethel Tibbits Scholarship, which is offered to Richmond women so they can further their education and advance their careers.

A scholarship is accepting applications from Richmond women looking to pursue education to further their careers.

The 2023 Ethel Tibbits Scholarship, which honours local women’s rights activist and former owner and editor of the Richmond Review Ethel Tibbits, is providing $750 for tuition or course materials for women in need.

“This scholarship is unique in that it has an immediate, practical impact,” said Ed Gavsie, executive director of the Richmond Community Foundation (RCF).

“It helps women upgrade their skills and gain new credentials, which leads to professional advancement and increased earning potential.”

Applicants are required to have lived in Richmond for at least one year and demonstrate financial need. They should also indicate the type of training they require to enter the workforce or further their careers.

The scholarship is open to all fields and career paths.
