Richmond Community Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for local students pursuing post-secondary education.

Dozens of scholarships across multiple areas of study from academic to apprenticeship programs to the performing arts are available for Richmond high school students graduating this year.

“Our goal, always, is to support students on whatever path their education takes,” said Gavsie, executive director of the Community Foundation.

“As we diversify our scholarship funds, we’re better equipped to help students achieve their educational and professional goals.”

Besides the field of study, applications also look at a student's community involvement and financial need.

Each scholarship has different criteria every year with some students even selected as a "top candidate for several scholarships," according to Gavsie.

“At the same time, we review each application on its own merits, and consider a student’s individual circumstances when making our decisions," he said, adding students are encouraged to apply for multiple scholarships.

In 2022, the Community Foundation awarded $34,000 in scholarships to 38 students.
