Scheduled power outages in Richmond from August 16 to 23

Power outages in Richmond are planned for equipment maintenance and replacement regularly.

Richmond residents in multiple areas will experience power outages as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work between August 9 and 16 .

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

Here is the list of power outages scheduled for the upcoming week:

August 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect seven customers at:

  • 9091, 9093, 9097, 9099, 9131, 9135 and 9160 Steveston Hwy

August 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect less than five customers at:

  • 5671, 5691, 5711 Williams Rd.

August 17 from 8:30 a.m. to11 a.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect less than five customers at:

  • 11171 Fentiman Pl.

August 18 from 8:30 a.m. to11 a.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect five customers at:

  • 6011 Dyke Rd.

August 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pole replacement work will affect 83 customers at:
