Scheduled power outages in Richmond between May 17 and 21

Richmond residents in multiple areas will experience power outages as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work between May 17 and May 21.

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

Here is the list of power outages scheduled for the upcoming week:

May 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Pole replacement will affect 15 customers at:

  • 9220 to 9350 Kilby St.

May 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Pole replacement will affect less than five customers at:

  • 8482 No. 6 Rd.

May 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect less than five customers at:

  • 5971 Kittiwake Dr.
  • 11791 No. 2 Rd.

May 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Rescheduled from April 28)

Pole replacement will affect eight customers at:

  • 9080, 9100, 9102, 9120, 9131, 9151, 9171 and 9191 No. 4 Rd.
