Richmond residents in multiple areas will experience power outages as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work throughout the next two days.

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to the its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” said BC Hydro on its site.

Here is the list of power outages scheduled for Thursday and Friday.

Oct. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A planned pole replacement will affect 252 customers at:

  • 5000 - 8571 Calder Rd.
  • 5120 - 5580 Calderwood Cres.
  • 8251 Cantley Rd.
  • 5180 Cantrell Rd.
  • 8211 - 8300 Carmel Rd.
  • 5440 - 8251 Cathay Rd.
  • 5131 - 5331 Chetwynd Ave.
  • 5151 - 8220 Clifton Rd.
  • 5008 - 5620 Colbeck Pl.
  • 5151 - 5230 Cranbrook Ave.
  • 4811 - 5013 Francis Rd.
  • 8040 - 8720 Railway Ave

Oct. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 10 customers at:

  • 6499, 6511, 6531, 6540, 6551, 6571, 6580, 6591, 6611, 6651 Dunsany Pl.

Oct. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect two customers at:

  • 12520 and 12524 Vickers Way.

Oct. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A transformer replacement will affect 12 customers at:

  • 8620, 8631, 8640, 8651, 8660, 8671, 8680, 8691, 8700, 8711, 8720 and 8731 Citadel Cres.
