Risk of thunderstorms in forecast for Thursday, Friday

After a blazing hot weekend, Richmond and the rest of B.C. are expecting showers and thunderstorms starting Thursday afternoon leading into Friday.

According to Environment Canada, clouds with showers will begin in the afternoon with the risk of thunderstorms expecting in the late afternoon until tonight.

The Lower Mainland is also expecting five to 10 mm of rain today.

Friday morning will be windy with the forecast calling for heavy showers at times and a risk of a thunderstorm in the morning and early in the afternoon. Rainfall of up to 20 mm is expected throughout the day.

There is a 60 per cent chance of showers in the evening.

A mix of sun and clouds will return starting Saturday until Wednesday with a high of 22C and a low of 13C.
