Richmond's annual A Not So Silent Night, which benefits the Richmond Christmas Fund, is returning to an in-person event this year.

Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives (RCRG), which operates the Richmond Christmas Fund, is hosting the event at the new Porsche Centre Richmond on December 7.

The highlight of the night will be a silent auction featuring items from appliances to restaurant gifts. There will be another separate live auction with 11 luxury packages.

Attendees can expect food, drinks and holiday-themed entertainment throughout the event.

“We’re extremely grateful to the volunteer organizing committee,” said Ed Gavsie, president and CEO of RCRG

“Led by Wayne Duzita, the committee has worked tirelessly to secure an incredible selection of auction items, and create an event that truly captures the spirit of the Christmas Fund."

Those who cannot attend in person can join in on the silent auction, at no cost, online from Nov. 21 to Dec. 7.

Virtual fundraising has been an important and powerful way of reaching out to the community, according to Gavsie.

“With online bidding, more people can be part of A Not So Silent Night, and the event as a whole will be more successful," he said.

Tickets for A Not So Silent Night are $125 each or $1,000 for a 10-ticket package.
