Pranjal Kathari, 14, is happy to be reunited with his brand new mountain bike after it was successfully recovered by Richmond RCMP.
On June 16th around 4:30 p.m. Richmond RCMP were called to Katharis home in Burkeville after his family discovered that his brand new mountain bike had been stolen from their backyard. Cpl. Turley said Kathari had the mountain bike for only a day. There were no suspects believed to be responsible, which left investigators with little to work with.
Investigators from Richmond RCMPs Property Crime Unit became aware of the theft and began digging around. They learned that a prolific offender who had recently been released from custody had been arrested in Richmond days earlier. The offenders whereabouts, leading up to the arrest, were determined at which point the mountain bike was recovered in an area that the male was known to frequent.
Six days after the theft, Richmond RCMP returned to Burkeville and handed the mountain bike over to Kathari.
Kathari was very happy to see his bike again and can now enjoy the summer riding around his neighborhood, said RCMP spokeswoman Sherrdean Turley in a press release.
