This book is about a boy who doesnt know where he comes from, so his teacher at St. Burnabys gave him a name. His name is Jack Blank. When Jack was going into Imagine Nation, he found out he was Rustav infected. Everyone in Empire City is afraid of him. I liked this book because it was very creative and when you read each word you can visualize it in your head. Even though there are no pictures, you can still make a movie in your head. The part that I like the most was the place named Imagine Nation and Jack Blank being the hero in Empire City. I even liked the part when the Rustav were battling Jack it sounded so epic!

Title: The Magicians Elephant

Reviewed by: Joanna Xu

This book is about a boy called Peter Augustus Duchenes, who is training to become a soldier like his dead father. Peter has a sister Adele, who everyone thinks has died. Peter asks a fortune teller for help to find Adele and the fortune teller says that an elephant will lead him to her. The problem is that the elephant is in prison for breaking into an operas roof. After the elephant was released from prison, Peter asks it to lead him to Adele. The elephant leads him to Adele and they live together after they meet again. I liked this book because it has not only one problem in the book and that it makes your brain think when youre solving a problem. I also like the book because there are descriptive and creative words in some parts. The best thing I like about the book is that it has a happy ending and that it has sad times, happy times, exciting times and romantic times, which makes the book a perfect book!

Title: Misty of Chincoteage

Reviewed by: Kaylin Xu

This book is about two siblings named Paul and Maureen Beebe. They really want to have the Phantom, a horse that no one was able to capture before. They even saved up a lot of money for her. On Pony Penning Day, by pure luck, Paul manages to catch, not only the Phantom, but also her colt, Misty! However, even after months, the Phantom just doesnt seem at rest in her new home. In the end, Paul releases the Phantom on Chincoteague Island, where she was born. I liked this book because of how hard Paul and Maureen worked to overcome all the obstacles in getting the Phantom and Misty. I also liked how Paul set the Phantom free despite going through all that trouble in obtaining her. I think that it was a very kind and selfless act to liberate something when you see that it is longing for freedom.
