After Friday’s temporary reprieve from the late summer heatwave, the mercury is set to rise again this weekend in Richmond.
It’s no surprise that the coolest spots in the city Saturday and Sunday are going to be Steveston Village, Steveston harbour and Terra Nova, where the temperatures will peak Saturday at 23C.
Elsewhere in the city, the Richmond News’ Weatherhood stations are predicting a marked increase for the city centre area at 26C, with similar temperatures at Bridgeport (No. 5 and River roads) and East Richmond (Highway 91 and Knight Street).
On Sunday it will get hotter still:
Steveston Village: 24C
Steveston Harbour: 25C
Terra Nova: 24C
City centre: 27C
East Richmond: 27C

Our parent company, Glacier Media, recently launched Weatherhood on all of its news sites across Metro Vancouver, with weather stations strategically positioned around Richmond neighbourhoods to give you a hyper-local forecast.
The stations are all scientifically calibrated at UBC’s Atmospheric Sciences department, and our stations are placed in a way that is meteorologically sound: away from trees, buildings, walls, and major obstructions.
More than 50 sensors have been strategically placed throughout the region, including along the Sunshine Coast, all the way up to Whistler.
