A tea lounge in Richmond was given a $2,300 fine for serving alcohol after 10 p.m.

This is the third COVID-related violation ticket has been issued in Richmond under the COVID-Related Measures Act (CRMA).

The tea lounge on Alexandra Road was issued the fine for the incident on Oct. 24, according to Supt. Will Ng, officer in charge of the Richmond RCMP.

RCMP became aware of the infraction while investigating a stabbing outside the tea lounge that night, Ng explained.

Two other tickets have been given out in Richmond under the CRMA:  a private sports facility was fined $2,300 in August for having more than 50 people in its premises, and a man was issued a $1,000 non-compliance ticket in September for not quarantining while ordered to do so.
