The art of knitting is alive and well in the hands of 25 Grades 4 to 7 students at General Currie elementary.
Since October, the knitting club, open to any intermediate students, has been turning wool to scarf, and donated about five dozen scarves to the Richmond Salvation Army Tuesday afternoon.
The kids are very enthusiastic about it, said elementary counselling support worker Tara Hawkins, whos been running the knitting club for four years.
Its open for kids whove never held a knitting needle to those whove learned from their grandparents.
Some students even take the work home with them and return the next day with a finished product.
