The 16th annual Richmond Regional Heritage Fair is swiftly approaching and Richmond students will shed light on Canada’s history.
On Saturday, May 12, celebrate history through the “next generation of leaders” as student displays illustrate notable Canadians, significant events and historic places. The free community event will also have activities like musical instrument creating and printmaking.
At a closing ceremony from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., students will receive awards for their projects and five students will be selected to represent Richmond at the BC Provincial Heritage Fair in Squamish this July.
The annual fair is sponsored by the Richmond Museum Society, BC Heritage Fairs Society, Richmond School District, Richmond Heritage Commission, Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site and the BC Arts Council.
Local schools participating in the fair include Anderson Elementary, Cambie Secondary, Cornerstone Christian Academy, Diefenbaker Elementary, L’école des Navigateurs, Errington Elementary, General Currie Elementary, Gilmore Elementary, Hamilton Elementary, and McRoberts Secondary.
