A shopping centre in Richmond is in the process of building its very own ice bar for one day only over the Christmas season.
McArthurGlen Designer Outlet at YVR has commissioned a company called Ice Décor to custom-sculpt the bar, which will open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 3 to 8 p.m.
It will be taken down - if it hasn't already melted - at the end of that Saturday.
The shopping centre is inviting the public to drop into its “luxury ice bar” for a “signature festive drink” such as hot chocolate, mulled wine, or a “Spirit Trail” (whisky, lemon, chai spice syrup, peach nectar, and angostura bitters).
According to McArthurGlen, the ice bar will be fully decorated to “truly make guests feel like they are stepping into a dreamland amid the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.”
And, of course, they point out that the ice bar will be perfect for lovers of Instagram.
McArthurGlen will also be collecting non-perishable items for the Richmond Food Bank all weekend, and is encouraging shoppers to bring donations.
