Sunny skies and rising mercury is being forecast from the beginning of the week, right through to Saturday, when some clouds are expected to roll in and temper the Labour Day long weekend fun.

From a pleasant 21C by the water at Vancouver Airport on Monday, the heat is forecast by Environment Canada to peak on Wednesday at 24C (29 inland), cooling down to 15C and clear skies at night.

It will still be short of the all-time record, however, for that time, with 27.8C recorded on Aug, 28 in 1967 at Vancouver Airport.

By Sunday, the sun is forecast to disappear behind the clouds altogether, leaving us with a stuffy 22C by the water and 25 inland.
