Who has the best Peking duck? Or your favourite spring rolls? More than 100 Richmond restaurants are hoping to win diners’ favour as polls have opened for the 2018 Chinese Restaurant Awards.

Launched in 2008, the Chinese Restaurant Awards aims to bring awareness to Metro Vancouver’s Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine. The awards are now the longest running Chinese culinary event in the world and are considered the local authority on Chinese food.

Diners get to share their input through the Diners’ Choice Awards which recognizes local eateries nominated by locals, to encourage local diners to experiment and celebrate Metro Vancouver’s culinary scene. There are 21 categories in total and this year, there are four new additions: best Peking duck, best Shanghainese stir fry egg white, best Sichuan mouth-watering chicken and best spring rolls.

This year, voting will take place online and through WeChat in partnership with the Fantuan Delivery app. Voting is on now and ends Sunday, March 4. Results will be announced at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 5. To see a full list of restaurants and to cast your ballot, visit Chinese Restaurant Awards’ website. (LINK)
