Richmond rentals remain in top 10 across Canada

Richmond belongs in the top 10 most expensive cities when it comes to renting a one-bedroom home.

According to Rentals.ca and Bullpen Research & Consulting, a one-bedroom home in Richmond in July cost $1,629 to rent, the 10th highest across Canada, and the average monthly rent for a two-bedroom was $2,050, the 11th highest in Canada. 

The average monthly rent for all Canadian properties listed on Rentals.ca in July was $1,771, up $1 over June but still down 8.1 per cent year-over-year.

Vancouver took over the No. 1 spot on the list of Canadian cities in July for average monthly rent for a two-bedroom home at $2,797.

The city finished second for average monthly rent in July for a one-bedroom at $2,004. Vancouver average monthly rent for a two-bedroom is down 9.4 per cent year over year. 

Vancouver average rents for apartments and condominium rentals declined 8 per cent year over year to $2,239.
