Richmond RCMP is seeking the public's help to locate a suspect in a hit and run of a child.

A 11-year-old boy was reportedly struck in the area of No. 1 Rd. and Tucker Ave. before 9 a.m. on Oct. 5.

According to RCMP, the boy was pushing his bike in a marked pedestrian crosswalk when he was struck by a gray minivan. The minivan then sideswiped another vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The boy was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and he has since been released. No other injuries were reported.

The suspect allegedly driving the minivan was described as an Asian woman with a bob-style haircut possibly in her 50's. The gray minivan might have some light damages.

Cpl. Dennis Hwang said RCMP is "actively investigating this disturbing collision" and hopes the public can help with locating the driver.

Anyone with information on the incident or potential dashcam footage is encouraged to contact Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file #2022-27171.
