Richmond RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in an alleged home invasion, which appears to have been targeted.
An unidentified male suspect allegedly attempted to break into a residence, in the 9100 block of No. 1 Road near Francis Road and the Hugh Boyd Soccer Fields, on Mar. 6, according to Mounties.
The suspect eventually gained entry to the main residence through an adjoining basement suite, according to Richmond RCMP, who said they responded to the alleged home invasion around 7:56 p.m. that night.
The occupants of the basement suite, who were inside at the time of the alleged break-in, were able to get away unharmed.
The suspect had already fled the scene by the time officers arrived, according to Richmond RCMP, who said that the incident appears to be targeted.
The suspect is described as a 173 cm to 183 cm (5 foot 8 to 6-feet) tall South Asian or Middle Eastern man, with dark hair.
At the time of the alleged home invasion, he was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, a bandana around his face and gloves.
Richmond RCMP obtained video surveillance of the suspect and are now asking for the public’s help in identifying him. The watch general investigation unit has conduct of the investigation.
