There’s usually a few characters kicking around the Pioneer’s Pub in Richmond, even on a wet Tuesday evening.

But few would have expected the Leader of the Opposition and Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre to pop in for a burger at the neighbourhood pub in Broadmoor Village at No. 3 and Williams roads.

Poilievre posted a photo of his quick visit on Twitter, showing him meeting some regulars and, not surprisingly, having a pop at his arch rival Justin Trudeau, noting that he met some new friends who’re “paying too much for Trudeau’s taxes and inflation.”

The Richmond News has reached out to Poilievre’s office for more details about the unscheduled visit.
