Richmond RCMP vehicles and officers pulled over a car on Monday night.

Richmond RCMP officers were seen with guns drawn facing a car on Monday evening in the Broadmoor area.

Four police vehicles and several officers - some holding guns - stopped and surrounded the car near No. 3 and Williams roads shortly before 8 p.m. on Feb. 12.

Cpl. Dennis Hwang, spokesperson for the Richmond RCMP, confirmed officers pulled the vehicle and its occupants over because it was "possibly associated to a robbery."

"The occupants and the vehicle were checked and cleared by officers and determined not to be involved," said Hwang.

"Due to the type of crime, our response was elevated."
