Richmond man pleads guilty to four sex crime charges

A Richmond man has pleaded guilty to four sex-related crimes dating back to 2015.

Satvir Sanghera was originally charged with 17 counts of various crimes, including sexual assault and possession of child pornography.

A sentencing hearing has been set for November, after Sanghera pleaded guilty last December to two counts of sexual assault, which took place in December 2015 and April 2019, and two counts of obtaining or communicating for sexual services, dating to April 2016 and June 2019.

The charges stemmed from several incidents in Richmond, but some allegedly took place Vancouver and Coquitlam.

The case was originally set to go to trial, but it got delayed twice. The other 13 charges haven’t been dropped yet.

The sentencing hearing for Sanghera will be held on Nov. 27 in Richmond Provincial Court.
