On Friday, Surjit Singh Dosanjh was found guilty of two counts of manslaughter in connection to a 2015 fire at a Richmond complex that led to the deaths of two people.
On April 13, 2015, Richmond RCMP were called to a fire at a home on Cornerbrook Crescent, near Williams Road and Railway Avenue. A woman and a boy – whose names are protected by a publication ban – were found inside. Both died of their injuries.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called to investigate and Dosanjh, who is now 40, was arrested and charged.
“IHIT is very grateful for the significant contributions made by its partners from the Richmond RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the Richmond Fire Department,” says Corporal Frank Jang of IHIT in a press release.
Sentencing will be scheduled for a later date.
