A man is suspected of stabbing and inflicting other fatal injuries on a 70-pound boxer dog and two cats, all of which he co-owned with his ex-wife.

He then allegedly placed them in a freezer in the family home.

When the B.C. SPCA was called to the man's Richmond home, he would not talk to them, but did place the dead animals outside his house in a Rubbermaid container.

Investigators said they are awaiting the results of a necropsy on the animals, but they will be recommending charges of animal cruelty against the man.
