Following a B.C. Securities Commission investigation, a 52-year-old Richmond man has been charged with one count of fraud over $5,000 and one count of theft over $5,000.

Naresh Singh Mann was served by Richmond RCMP with a summons to appear at provincial court and charged on April 11.

According to the commission, Mann allegedly convinced a Vancouver resident to invest in an online gambling company and told them that the investment would lead to a significant return in six months. However, it’s alleged that Mann misappropriated the investment.

Mann first appeared in provincial court on May 10 and is set to appear again on June 7.
