Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with sugar art, crafts and important causes at Lansdowne Centre on Saturday.

Lansdowne Centre will be celebrating the annual Mid-Autumn Festival on Saturday, Sept. 10 with crafts, games and an important message.

A series of booths will be set up in Centre Court, near Earls, featuring Mid-Autumn themed sugar art, children's arts and crafts activities and a recycling challenge. The popular spinning wheel in support of the mall's Food Garden will also be poised to give out more stuffed veggies.

The mall also aims to promote inclusivity "in view of the growing number of hate-motivated incidents in the city."

Dignitaries, including representatives from the federal and provincial governments and the city, as well as Richmond RCMP, will attend the event at 2 p.m. to talk about the call-to-action in case someone faces a hate crime incident.

Lansdowne Centre's Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations will run from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
