A metal supplier with locations in Richmond, Burnaby and Langley was recently celebrated for being the best in safety out of all franchisees.

Metal Supermarkets Vancouver, owned by franchisees Tim Kemp, Patty Switzer and Nathan Kemp, received the Safety Leadership Award at the 2022 franchisee conference last month in Palm Springs, California.

“On behalf of our teams in Burnaby, Langley and Richmond, we’re honored to have won the Safety Leadership award. Safety is and has always been a top priority in our business,” said Nathan.

“We take the health and safety of our staff and customers very seriously. It’s why we implemented our own yearly in-house safety audit, to ensure we remain committed to safety in our day-to-day business. We’re grateful that our entire team remains dedicated to following safety protocols each day.”

The franchisees have a long track record of prioritizing and upholding safety for employees and customers, reads the press release, and this was not their first time receiving the award. Their "robust" safety protocol includes "systems, forms and checklists" and an "established health and safety onboarding program for all new staff."

"Every year we look forward to recognizing franchisees who go above and beyond to serve our customers, as well as grow their Metal Supermarkets business and the brand as a whole," said Stephen Schober, president and CEO of Metal Supermarkets.

"We accomplished a lot in 2022 and franchisees like Tim, Nathan and Patricia have played a big part in our ability to innovate, grow and succeed together."
