It looks like Richmond will soon be getting its second Tesla Supercharger station.
Construction work appears to have started in the middle of the parking lot at Ironwood Plaza on Steveston Highway.
According to website DriveTeslaCanada, Tesla has said the station is not set to open until during the first quarter of 2023.
But given that construction is already underway, there is a chance the station – thought to be a 12-stall location – could open before the end of this year.
Richmond has one, 20-stall Supercharger station at Richmond Centre, despite the fact the city has one of the largest concentrations of Tesla owners in B.C.
A Tesla Supercharger is a 480-volt, fast-charger. As of June 2022, Tesla operates 36,165 Superchargers in 3,971 stations worldwide.
